We may think our neighbor is the people that live next door to us or across the street from us, Christ extends that relationship to a wider circumference.

Our neighbor is whoever is in need, whoever we can help, whoever we can serve. This service reaches far beyond our immediate area. It reaches a person standing by the freeway asking for money, it reaches people that are hungry and in pain.

Jesus tells a parable of a Jewish person that had been robbed and beaten and left for dead. A Priest saw the injured man and passed by on the other side. The Priest would not go near him, neither did the Levite. The only person that would help the injured man was the man’s enemy. So, the question is are we loving our neighbor and what are we willing to do for them?
